Transmission Service Northwest Arkansas Transmission gears deliver power from the engine to the drive wheels, shifting automatically to provide the best power and efficiency for your driving speed. Changing the fluid at the correct intervals can help prevent premature wear and damage to the transmission. Performing this transmission service by removal of the old transmission fluid and replacing it with new, clean fluid of the grade recommended by your vehicle manufacturer will prolong the life of your transmission.

Transmission Repair

Transmission Repair Northwest Arkansas Generally speaking, there are three different aspects that must be checked before any transmission repair. The first is probably the easiest, and definitely the most affordable: changing the transmission fluid. The cause of many problems is low or dirty transmission fluid, which can also cause the vehicle’s fuel economy to decrease. Next, we check the vehicle’s computer system that controls automatic shifting (for automatics). Transmission slipping and hard shifts can actually be caused by the computer if it is not reading the RPM correctly. Sensors can be easily replaced without disassembling a transmission, so this is the second easiest and cheapest repair that can fix the problem. The third and last option after a number of diagnostic tests including test driving the vehicle and a comprehensive inspection is where we use a highly qualified transmission only shop and the technician will remove the transmission from the vehicle and disassemble it. Each part is inspected, cleaned and replaced if they are defective. All parts that are in working order are used for the transmission repair. Parts such as seals and gaskets are all replaced. The electrical system that tells the transmission when to shift is tested and any required repairs are made. Transmission Replacement Transmission Replacement Northwest Arkansas Transmission replacement is the most expensive transmission repair but is generally the best way to insure that you have taken care of any and all potential problems. We recommend transmission replacement to anyone that is going to hang on to their vehicle for an extended time. Unlike the process of rebuilding a transmission where only the defective parts at that time are replaced a transmission replacement means that the transmission has been totally remanufactured with all new parts. We are proud to be an Authorized Jasper Transmission Dealer. Jasper is the accepted leader in the transmission rebuilding industry for two reasons. One they hire only the most qualified and experienced technicians and two their facilities are known in the industry for their high cleanliness standards. Contaminants in the transmission can have a detrimental effect on not only the performance but also the life of your transmission. This is why we use Jasper for replacement transmissions. Jasper replacement transmissions come with a 3 year/100,000 mile Nationwide Transferable Warranty including parts and labor.
